Gardening brings many rewards, not least the pleasure of being outside, hearing the bird song, feeling the breeze and absorbing the natural world, plus the beauty of whatever is growing and watching the seasons unfold. When a gardener is also a photographer then the rewards double, subjects everywhere, no need for trains, planes, automobiles, no need to leave the garden gate. The pleasure of seeing such a varied amount of wildlife in a relatively small space is a joy and makes my efforts at naturalisation and wildlife sympathetic planting all the more worthwhile. Conservation can take many forms, my efforts are centred around creating a haven for nature, a place for all creatures, including me of course :-) Being out in amongst it all means of course I am there when the creatures turn up, it doesn't take much to distract me from gardening and to take up the camera. These galleries contain just a some of the wildlife that enriches my day.
